"The Tattered House" ~ Roseville, CA

As mentioned in the previous post, we had the pleasure of meeting up with Erica and Sandy in Roseville last week. These special gals visited us at the last Barn Sale and we are so glad to have met them and made friends with these remarkable women!

Here are some pictures of their gorgeous store, which is just as amazing as they are!

Remember to stop by if you are ever in the area, tell them Linda sent you! :)

Be sure to stop by daily this week as we will be featuring two other vendors that we were lucky enough to meet along the way!

Tree lined roads and the beauty of Northern California!

The Tattered House is located in Old Roseville, California. Their address is: 417 Oak Street, Roseville, CA. Phone number is: 916-772-7700. Their email is: thetatteredhouse@surewest.net . Store hours are 10-6 and they are closed on Tuesdays!

The long and winding road...

After a wonderful week in Lake Tahoe and Northern California, we are finally back in action! We had many opportunities to visit many great places, but the shops we stopped at along the way were by far the highlights of our trip!

We made a special trip to "The Tattered House" in Old Roseville, CA to visit some of our prior visitors to the Barn, Erica and Sandy. These two are a great match business wise and they really compliment each other. We loved their store and their personal flair. Not to mention their great prices! Anytime that you are in their neck of the woods, I would highly recommend a stop to their little slice of heaven! It is a nice little break and you may find yourself in there much longer than that!

I will be adding more pictures (Courtesy of Fairy Tale Creations Photography) from the trip and more pictures from their store later, but for now here is a sneak peak of what they have in "store", lol...

Til next time ~

Who Has Been Visiting Our Blog?

I know, if you're like me, you have your favorite blogs that you check on each week to see if there are some new postings.  I hope we are one of those blogs.

La Maison Rustique loves to posts pictures of our sales and the great friends we meet but that's only once a month unless something so wonderful like getting written up in a magazine comes along. (still giddie :)

Sooooo, I decided I would return the favor and visit some of our visitors and post what I found.  It's going to be fun, you might want to visit them too.  So get some tea, a little cookie and snuggle next to your computer (snuggle computer? hmmmmmm) and let's take a trip.

First up, Jennifer's Junky Life .  Jennifer has just updated her blog and it's 59 degrees and a sunny day, California?  Well, it also says "We have a winter storm watch in effect until Sunday evening! Potential snowfall accumulations of six inches or greater is expected, along with wind speeds of up to 25 miles per hour."  Nope, not California... She's in Northern Minnesota.  Jennifer writes in her blog about what sounds like an Embroidering obsession. (we all have one don't we?)...she started with a cute embroidered hankie for a wedding and has become an embroidering machine turning out cute hankies and tea towels.  Take a look they are sooo cute.

We're moving on to Prairie Home done beautifully by Sherry.  She has what she calls "Sassy Tees".  I call them "Gotta Have" tees.  They are so cute "Vintage Chic", "Junk Prom Queen", "Vintage Couture", and "Rebel Road Sista".  Now don't those names conjure up what we all love JUNK, VINTAGE, OH LA LA, DIFFERENT and Loving it!  Also, when you stop in to check out Sherry's blog, check out her junque jewels....because rust is IN haven't you heard.

Hey they even have products to make things rust faster or duplicate the look of rust.  Need some rust fast, check out this website.  This guy is funny but if you decide to try it, be CAREFUL.  If you have a way to rust something, let us know.

Whoa....I'm getting off course in my travels, let's visit one more blog today!

Now we're visiting Sweet Victoria Antiques.  Victoria owned a Gifts & Antiques Shop in Seattle, WA for six years and is in the mist of renovating a barn to have barn sales just like La Maison Rustique.  You go girl! It's lots of hard work but so rewarding just in all the new people you meet and the encouragement you receive.

Oh dear, my tea is cold and my cookie is gone so I'm going to come back to reality and continue my trip another day.  Glad you could visit and hope you enjoyed our little trip.  More to come.

Romantic Country Article about La Maison Rustique

Barnsalemagazinepic2 We were so excited to see a wonderful article in the new Romantic Country about the La Maison Rustique.

As we grow, it is wonderful to get the word out and meet new dynamic women who share similar interests.

Barnsalemagazinepic Here's a snapshot of the article.  Pick up the magazine and check it out.  We're on page 19.

Here's an excerpt:
"La Maison Rustique is the kind of shop you might expect to find on a busy street in a major city. Instead, the business opens one weekend a month in a renovated barn in Temecula. With vintage chandeliers, architectural salvage, chippy tables, refinished armoires, and lots of French antiques for sale, it's like no other barn in wine country!"

Also, don't miss another great article in the same issue "A Room of her Own".  It features our dear friend Heather Bullard.  She shares some great secrets including making your own inspiration board.  The pictures of her office are inspirational.

Time to get back to work, we have lots of new items we're working on for the next sale.  See you soon!

Shopping and Creativity at the Barn

The sky cleared and we had a beautiful day at the Barn Sale.

We had a special event today, a bottlecap necklace class!  Seven adventurous people used their creativity and completed a ready to wear unique necklace.  I know your friends and family will be amazed and ask "when are you making me one?"

Bottle_cap_necklace_2

This class was put on by JoleeJane of Art Takes A Village, a non-profit organization working to bring Art Therapy to women in drug rehabilitation programs.  All the proceeds of this class are used for supplies for these classes.  JoleeJane is working hard to get her blog going so visit and bookmark it and come back in a couple weeks as she promises there will be more information about her organization and what you can do to help.  Check out pictures from the class using the photo album on the left hand side of our blog.

Some brought their own pictures to personalize their bottlecaps.  Pictures of children, Mothers, Fathers, Grandmothers or some used the pictures supplied of art and symbols.  Kay Ellen, I'm sorry somehow I didn't get a picture of your finished necklace, it was great.  Heather, age 8 did great necklace.  Patsy and her two kids worked in unison to get her necklace done......I think they'll have to share :}

If you're interested in taking this class, contact JoleeJane and she can give you additional information.

Barnsaletub2_2 If you've been to the Barn, you've probably seen the large claw footed bathtub.

Barnsaletub1_2 Well, it was picked up today for a new and revitalizing life.  It was loaded in the pickup truck and I saw a photo opportunity so I asked if they could place the little guy in the tub for a pic.  Isn't he cute, his name is Conner.  I bet he'll be enjoying some great baths in that tub!

As usual there was wonderful finds at the Barn and if you missed it, mark the date for our next Barn Sale in April for more new and exciting vintage EVERYTHING...you know you love it!  Check back later for more updates.
