Shopping and Creativity at the Barn
The sky cleared and we had a beautiful day at the Barn Sale.
We had a special event today, a bottlecap necklace class! Seven adventurous people used their creativity and completed a ready to wear unique necklace. I know your friends and family will be amazed and ask "when are you making me one?"
This class was put on by JoleeJane of Art Takes A Village, a non-profit organization working to bring Art Therapy to women in drug rehabilitation programs. All the proceeds of this class are used for supplies for these classes. JoleeJane is working hard to get her blog going so visit and bookmark it and come back in a couple weeks as she promises there will be more information about her organization and what you can do to help. Check out pictures from the class using the photo album on the left hand side of our blog.
Some brought their own pictures to personalize their bottlecaps. Pictures of children, Mothers, Fathers, Grandmothers or some used the pictures supplied of art and symbols. Kay Ellen, I'm sorry somehow I didn't get a picture of your finished necklace, it was great. Heather, age 8 did great necklace. Patsy and her two kids worked in unison to get her necklace done......I think they'll have to share :}
If you're interested in taking this class, contact JoleeJane and she can give you additional information.
If you've been to the Barn, you've probably seen the large claw footed bathtub.
Well, it was picked up today for a new and revitalizing life. It was loaded in the pickup truck and I saw a photo opportunity so I asked if they could place the little guy in the tub for a pic. Isn't he cute, his name is Conner. I bet he'll be enjoying some great baths in that tub!
As usual there was wonderful finds at the Barn and if you missed it, mark the date for our next Barn Sale in April for more new and exciting vintage EVERYTHING...you know you love it! Check back later for more updates.
